From Caterpillar to Butterfly

This past couple of weeks, we had some visitors.
5 Caterpillars came by for dinner.
And boy did they EAT
and EAT
and Eat!

Before too long they were nice and fat.
So they decided to rest by hanging at the top of their jar.

Here they all are hanging upside down like bats preparing for their
metamorphosis.
Yes, I actually learned all these fancy terms from reading,
From Caterpillar to Butterfly by Deborah Heligman throughout this
process.

A couple of days later, they had each formed a Chrysalis.
Then we just waited and waited (about 8 days.)

At last they all broke open, and out came...
beautiful butterflies.
We fed the butterflies oranges and Carnations sprinkled with
sugar water.
They liked it a lot!

After observing the butterflies for a couple of days,
it was time to release them into the outside world.

Aren't they beautiful!!

Bye Bye butterfly! Be free!
I will miss you!
Thanks for visiting for a while.
