From Caterpillar to Butterfly

This past couple of weeks, we had some visitors.
5 Caterpillars came by for dinner.
And boy did they EAT
and EAT
and Eat!

Before too long they were nice and fat.
So they decided to rest by hanging at the top of their jar.

Here they all are hanging upside down like bats preparing for their
metamorphosis.
Yes, I actually learned all these fancy terms from reading,
From Caterpillar to Butterfly by Deborah Heligman throughout this
process.

A couple of days later, they had each formed a Chrysalis.
Then we just waited and waited (about 8 days.)

At last they all broke open, and out came...
beautiful butterflies.
We fed the butterflies oranges and Carnations sprinkled with
sugar water.
They liked it a lot!

After observing the butterflies for a couple of days,
it was time to release them into the outside world.

Aren't they beautiful!!

Bye Bye butterfly! Be free!
I will miss you!
Thanks for visiting for a while.

Catching up with Ava

Last week, I took a break from track athlete to have a play date with Ava.
I had such a great time playing with Ava and meeting her new baby brother, Griffin!
I can tell she is a GREAT big sister!

Of course it wouldn't be a typically play date if we didn't end up in our birthday suits!

Nothing beats water fun with old friends.

Mommy was so glad to get to spend the afternoon with her dear friend, Mrs. Meghan!
It was so great catching up with our friends!
We miss you!

My First Track Camp!

Well, what are some of the perks of your Aunt Laurie being a track coach at the University of North Texas?

You guessed it!
You get to attend a 4 day track camp at no cost, at the very young age of 3!
...and still hang out with Aunt Laurie and have fun in the process!
You can't beat it!

All dressed in my North Texas Gear ready for my first day of camp!
And, no Mommy would not let me wear my gold princess necklace at track camp! Boo!

Arriving at the Track field Entrance. We had to follow the Eagle Claws to Camp!
Fun already!

Getting Closer!

My First Dance Recital!

This weekend, I had my very first ballet recital at the perfect age of 3!
I have to say, I was excited to dance in front of all my family!

Definitely one of my favorite parts of all was getting to wear
REAL make-up!

The Over the Rainbow Performers backstage.

The Wizard of Oz

On Saturday, Mommy and I went to see the Wizard of Oz!
Daddy was playing in a golf tournament, so it was just a girl's day!
Even though, I never want to stay till the end of a movie at the theater,
I have to say, I LOVED The Wizard of Oz, especially when they sang "Over the Rainbow."

All dressed up and ready to go.
I got to wear my Halloween costume again.
Way to Reuse!

Waiting for the play to start!

I loved, of course, the Fairy Godmother all dressed up and sparkly, like a princess.
Dorothy even used a real dog in the show!
Toto stole the show.

You can remotely make out Dorothy, the Lion, Tinman, and Scarecrow here.
The wonderful characters kept my attention the entire time!
What a classic!!

My Favorite Shirt!

Well, I have a new favorite shirt these days.
(Although, you wouldn't think so based on the picture below.
I was not in a picture taking mood.)
However, I love to tell everyone exactly what it says!

Do you like my Big Sister to Bee shirt too?

Don't you think I will be perfect for the job?
After all, I love to bring the baby in Mommy's belly toys to play with all the time. And I have even named the baby "girl." (A boy is just not an option for me.)
Her name is Hula Hoop.
Very fitting don't you think?
Yes, that's right.
Her name is Hula Hoop Hobbs!
I think it sounds perfect!
I am going to be a GREAT Big Sister!
