Mommy and Daddy threw me a party full of surprises!

We were all set up to play and jump outside when...

Surprise #1...

That 30% chance of rain projected to hit in the afternoon decided to strike early!

Minutes later, it was raining cats and dogs!

Well, cats, dogs,

ladybugs and even frogs

to name a few rodents and animals running around my house.

Nevermind the ladybug thing, I think I'll get my face painted like a pink kitty!

Hannah's Poems ...Mommy Minute

As some of you may already know, my little Hannah will be turning 2 in 6 days!

Maybe it is the emotions I am feeling from Mother's Day,

or maybe it is the emotions I am feeling because my baby is growing up. But,

Hannah ,

never worry, you will always be my Baby!

Some of you may know, I love to write.

I have papers about Cougar Attacks, Classroom Engagements and Shrimp Thieves to name a few.

I have poems for my husband, foot doctor, and even co-workers.

But, I have never written anything for by own daughter.

The pressure is just too great.

But today is the day I will venture out and overcome my fears!

I feel so honored
that I was selected to be your mother.

I feel so blessed

that I get to truly feel your pure love each day.

I feel so optimistic

because I know your kindness, intelligence, and strength

is going to better the world.

I feel so fortunate that I get to be a child in your classroom

learning from you every day.

by the piece of perfection I was trusted to raise and nurture.

I feel so thankful,

for even though I was selected to guide and protect you,

She puts her whole self in all she does,

not many people dare to try.

The way she lights up with sheer joy

from her toes to those precious, blue eyes.

She speaks with such conviction,

many can't help but follow and believe

because this 2 year old is something special,

and I can't wait to see the greatness she'll achieve.

She is Miss Independent,

determined to lead the way,

but she never wanders too far off

because God guides her day.

When she snuggles and she cuddles,

her warmth can't help but flow out.

She simply melts my heart ,

and I can't help but gladly shout,

Prayer Performance

A Minister in the Making!

Look Closely!

Yes, today was a big day! I now have a BIG Girl Bed! I was very excited about it.

If you look even closer, yes, you will see paint on me since I was painting. But look even closer.

Yes. I am wearing big girl panties!

Today, I went all day long wearing them.

I had a few accidents when I was occupied in things I really love to do like painting and eating. But, overall I am ready. I don't know if Mommy and Daddy were ready. But I kept telling them and they finally listened.

I have been crawling out of my crib for a few weeks now, so I am glad they decided to make it easier for me to get out of bed.

I have been waking up in the middle of the night lately to tell my Mommy and Daddy I have to go potty, so I am glad that they decided to make going potty alittle easier on me.

So a Big Girl Bed and Big Girl Panties.

Mommy Minute.. The Escapee requests, "Hold Me!"

About 3 weeks ago something changed. Hannah started waking up screaming after only sleeping about 5 minutes during her nap. She requested I hold her and rock her which put her right back to sleep. But, she would not let me put her back in her crib.

It only got worse from there. Now, 3 weeks later, she won't let me put her down at all. She only wants me to hold her while she naps. She doesn't want to drop the nap, she just asks me to hold her and goes right to sleep.

Today it got even more interesting. After attempting to put her down for her nap and sitting in the room facing away while she cried, she crawled out of her crib for the 1st time, tapped me on the back, and said, "Mommy rock me. " So I gave in and rocked and held her. She slept for 1 and 1/2 hours. What's a mommy to do? Should I hold her during her naps or keep putting her back in her crib trying to get her to nap by herself listening to her cry for over an hour? Please help me. I like cuddling with her. But, I get no break until bedtime, and what if I am still holding her at age 3 and 4 during naps? I would love some advice. =)
