Mommy Minute Thanks to all the Mommies

One of many things I have realized since my 16 month old job as a mother began is:
Mommies really take care of other mommies!!! They are always wanting to help out another mommy!!! They give great advice, and are simply the best. And through the months, I have learned so much. I wish I would have written it all down along the way. So, I think I will start a new on-going good advice section on this blog--so I don't forget it, and to share with others if I can. I thought I would share just a few pieces of advice of many that have helped me along the way:

  • Krista- Always have a glass of wine while dining with your kids at restaurants. It will take the edge off. These are always stressful times; Shop at Marshalls for toddler shoes- name brands for 1/3rd of the price; Use EASY routine with newborns.

  • Melissa and Meghan- Use muffin pans to serve meals to toddlers; Start Blogging to have a record for Hannah and to share with family and friends.

  • Meghan- Shop at Payless and Target too; Subscribe to Baby News Emails; Heartsong Music is the Best.

  • Polly-Always stock ground beef in your freezer for a quick dinner; Playdates are only a house away around my neighborhood; Cooking is possible; Switch Baby toys ever so often

  • Cristi- Turn your monitor off once in a while; stock up on little ketchup packets; Pass on all Hannah's clothes to another new mommy one day!

  • Michelle- Take turns getting to sleep in.

  • Nancy- Have a date night!

  • Ashley-Switch with your friends for free babysitting.

  • Misti- Where do I begin?- Hannah made it through her 1st year because of all your advice!

  • Hillary- Start Traditions with your children now -The pickle ornament and The Elf on a Shelf are 2 of my favorite.
  • My sister, Tootie- Burping advice to Pooping advice- Sisters are the best!

  • Carlene- Treasure each moment because they really do grow up fast; Put baby oil on newborn's head to prevent cradle cap.--Hannah's head was always beautiful!

  • My Mommy- Stay home with your children if you can. You will never regret spending this precious time with them! (And of course Mommies are always right!)

Thank you to all the mothers out there who have really made a difference in my life... Because of you when Hannah looks at me and smiles and thinks I am the best mommy ever, my heart can also melt. One day when she is a mother I will pass on my little secret to her too .

Mommy you're the best!

Surprise Birthday Present for Dada!

I decided to finger paint a picture for my Dada's birthday!!! Mommy tried to keep my hands on my masterpiece. However, I was still able to sneak in a few strokes on myself. You can't fingerpaint without fingerpainting yourself!!! I taught my mom that lesson for sure. I made a big mess, and it was big fun!!!

I let my mommy take a quick picture before I was off trying to paint the house walls!!

My 1st Masterpiece!!! It's one of a kind!!
Now that I am such an artist, I think I will move to canvas next time.

Presenting my present to dada 1st thing in the morning on his big 35th birthday!
He really loved it!!!

Speak Softly and Carry a Big Stick

Kenzie and I are covered in sand at the Dino Pit

Okay, So, I don't usually speak softly, but I do carry a big stick!! I can't seem to make my mommy understand that I LOVE sticks. Everytime I see one, I have to pick it up and carry it around with me. And the BIGGER the BETTER!! My mommy is always taking them away from me. But I always find more!! He He!!

I even managed to find a stick at the Dino Pit today. Now that's talent!!

Legs on a Book??

I am so confused. My mommy said my MAMPs book, Let's Play must have grown legs and walked off at music class the other day. I love music too, so I don't blame it for wanting it to stay there. I just hope my book uses its legs and finds its way back to me one day. If you happen to see it, will you tell my book to run because I miss it.

Me and My Peeps Books

My mommies friends, Meghan and Keri just started there own board book company. I have these books, and I have to say I love them. I love looking at all the familiar faces in my books, and the words are really fun to listen too. I am so glad they started this business because these books are the best thing since sippy cups and milk.

Here is an example of one of my personalized books.

Off to School????

I got a chance to act like a big kid and carry a backpack with me to class. Once a month, mommy and I go to MOPS together. (Mother's of Preschoolers) Mommy goes to a seminar (whatever that means) and I go to a real classroom with real teachers. We both get to learn for 2 whole hours. However, I think my learning is more fun.

Mommy Minute.......Mommy MIA

I am sometimes alittle saddened that my daughter could think I was not around much to see her daily action shots. The pictures do often show daddy at her side. I just want to say my dear Hannah, Mommy is often the one behind the camera remembering to record the memories. Daddy and you get to be the characters in my favorite book. =)) Now that's a Best Seller!

Queen of the Jungle

Right this Way!
Making my way through the crowd!

Down I go... again and again!

Today I went to Jungle Java! This is my new favorite place!! Here, like most places, I am Miss Independent! I can climb up different high surfaces and then slide down the slide all on my own. Then, I repeat, repeat, repeat! Mommy likes it because she can drink her favorite expressos, and I can have loads of fun!

Leisurely Reading

A Special Treat... My cousin, Ronito gets to experience my favorite time of day with us... Bedtime Stories
Mommy, Daddy, and I all cuddle together in my big rocking chair and Mommy and Daddy read my my bedtime story of my choice. Then it's prayers, kisses, and Nigh Nigh!
Can you believe Mommy fit on the chair with the 3 of us that night?
We're a Close Family!

I love my Sesame Street first thing in the morning.

It takes a true talent to enjoy reading upside down.

Having a Ball in a Box!

So Happy in my castle!

Who wishes they were out of the box now?
This is my box Zoey!!

What is my obsession with a basic box? All kids have them...kitties have them too. My cat, Zoey and I actually fought over the possession of the box. I don't need fancy doll houses mommy, when all I really love is a box.

Just Hanging Out! (The above wonderful pictures were taken by my dear friend and photographer, Dana Bone.)

Stealing a Kiss!

Having Fun with Mommy and Daddy

Enjoying the beautiful Austin days!
